About the Author

Gene Piotrowsky is an Emmy-winning author, graphic designer, filmmaker, and television production veteran whose creative career spans more than four decades.

Raised in New York City, Piotrowsky began his career in graphic design before moving into feature films and network television. His credits include the feature films Heartland and Alambrista, as well as NBC's True Blue, CBS's DeadRinger, and ABC's Bellevue Emergency.

He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design and Title Sequences for The Gardener's Son and later earned an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Children's Programming for A Special Day in The Year of The Child.

Piotrowsky later founded his own design agency and television production company, working with clients including NBC, CBS, ABC, The Food Network, AT&T, Fortune Magazine, New York Magazine, Bantam Books, and others.
